The feed in tariff, sometimes refered to as the 'clean energy cashback scheme' rewards you for generating your own clean electricity.
The R.H.I
The renewable heat incentive (R.H.I) has been given the go ahead and we should expect to see it go live from April 2011.
If you have a South facing roof and want to cash in, you will get paid 41.3p for every KW of electricity you generate regardless of whether you use it or not and to top it off, anything you don't use, you will earn an extra 3p per kWh.
This incentive guarantees a cash payment for those that generate their own renewable heat. No details have been confirmed as of yet post budget 2010, but we do now know that the treasury has set aside some £800m for its implementation.

Is Solar for me?
Solar isn't for everyone, it's not suitable if for instance you have a lot of shading over your roof.
A south facing roof is ideal, although we can install on east and west facing roofs you need to be aware that there can be a 15% drop in total generation.
